As part of the milling process; when we are sawing, there is a variety of products that are produced. There is never a time when a specific product of grade is exclusively produced. Therefore when we are sawing, there are several kinds of mulches that are produced, roofing grade shingles, siding grade shingles, excelsior and utility grade shingles.

Of those utility grade shingles, we offer two kinds of packaging of our utility grades. We offer a 9/9 pack of shims which are 18 courses x 7 3/4" wide of random width from 1 1/2" to 6 1/2" wide, shims. We also offer a 5/8 cubic foot bag of shims that are random width from ~1 1/2" to 2 1/2" wide x 16" long.

I have seen the shim offerings of other mills. While this is a utility product, some of them are pretty rough.
I have heard of instances where our product has been stocked behind that of our competitors and contractors have climbed over that stock to get to ours.
While I won't guarantee it, there is a pretty good chance that you will throw away far fewer of our shims than you would from most other mills due to defects.
